World’s first successful submarine attack



The first successful submarine attack was carried out by the submarine CSS Hunley of the Confederate Navy during the civil war. It sank the USS Housatonic one of the US ships blockading Charleston Harbour.
The Huntley sank with the loss of her crew after the attack, she was recently raised and is now in the process of a complete restoration. Huntley holds the the record for the worlds longest dive! see the history details at
