Each Sunday a different division/class provided the guard for the Sunday morning parade. Drake Division classes 16/17 were the guard in early March 1956 just weeks before our graduation from HMS Ganges. The guard commander gave the order for the march past. The practice during the weeks leading up to the big day were intense. Every Gunnery Instructor wanted his guard to be the best ever!! We were no exception PO.GI Russel drove us hard. We were good but not sure we could claim to be the best ever??? but maybe!!!
