I expect that those of you who read my blog on a regular basis might assume I’m against a Conservative Government and/or the Conservative party in general. You would be wrong, I’m not, nor have I ever been a one party man, over the years I have voted both Liberal and Conservative. What I’m against is Harper, he is scary and I view him more as a dictator than a prime minister. Take a minute to read some facts about the last election. The population of Canada is 34,278,406. the number of voters in the last election 14,720,580. Those who voted for Harper 5,832,401. The votes against him were 8,888,179. His recent record apart from appointing three losers to the senate is far from illustrious. Remember his attack ads, scripted questions for vetted supporters, disregard for the Arts & Culture, poor environmental record, decline in scientific development, just to name a few. He has a mentality of ‘Them against Us’ causing a dis-functional parliament. Add to his record very poor fiscal management and you should start to wonder why this guy was elected. Its time the election act was overhauled, there was nothing proportional about the last vote. I heard Gail Shea (only Conservative MP in PEI) claimed after the election that the Canadian people have spoken. She was only partly correct, the Canadian people had indeed spoken, unfortunately they were not heard. The vast majority had said no to Harper!!
Cheers and keep reading
