I thought I pass this along, it was sent to me via the internet. But that isn’t my main reason for posting it. Here on PEI we have a debate going on over whether bibles should be offered free to our grade 5 students within the school system. Its not mandatory, the teacher sends out a form and the parent can say yes or no. That isn’t the main issue I’m trying to raise here its just another in a long list. We are (or maybe that should be were) a Christian country and our values are being eroded. For example-Its no longer politically correct to say Merry Christmas, we might offend an immigrant with a different religion. One wonders how we might be treated where they come from if we objected to their beliefs???
Anyway I think the attached is very true and what a lot of us are thinking these days
This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in the UK , United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
“I’m 70 and I’m Tired”
ByRobert A.. Hall
I’m 70.
Except for having 4 children with only a 6 week maternity period I’ve worked, hard, since I was 17. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and seldom called in sick in seven or eight years. I made a good salary, but I didn’t inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, retirement is hard, and I’m tired. Very tired.
I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth” to people who don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.
I’m tired of being told that Islam is a “Religion of Peace,” when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family “honor”; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren’t “believers”; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for “adultery”; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur’an and Shari’a law tells them to.
I’m tired of being told that out of “tolerance for other cultures” we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America and Canada , while no American nor Canadian group nor Australia is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi
Arabia to teach love and tolerance.
I’m tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.
I’m tired of being told that drug addicts have a
Disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off?
I’m tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I’m tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.
I’m real tired of people who don’t take
Responsibility for their lives and a_ctions. I’m
Tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.
Yes, I’m damn tired. But I’m also glad to be 70. Because, mostly, I’m not going to have to see the world these people are making. I’m just sorry for my grandchildren..
Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate.
Cheers and keep reading.
Sorry Irish Rover, but this was Bill Cosby having a rant at the world some time ago. Although it is still a good peice and apt, especially for you guys north of the border. 😉
Further to my last, (taken from Bill Cosby’s site). IF YOU GOT THE BOGUS E-MAIL IT’S TIME TO HIT DELETE. There’s an email floating around – entitled “I’m 76 and tired” – purportedly sent by me. I did not write the email. I did not send the email. I’m not 76, and I don’t subscribe to the ugly views expressed in the email. We are coming up to an important anniversary on Sunday, which is a day when we should all come together. Whoever wrote this email is not thinking about our country, or what is important. If you get the email it’s time to hit DELETE. Bill Cosby, Sept 9th 2011.
If this was Bill Cosby having a rant why is the name Robert A Hall, Massachusetts State Senator listed at the top and bottom of this????
Hi Ben, See Bill Cosby’s Disclaimer on Google (Bill Cosby – I’m Tired. I understand though the reason you posted it. I have a number of friends in Toronto, 2 of them Ex Ganges. Tony.
Hi Tony I see the disclaimer you suggested but not sure why you have raise the Bill Cosby issue here. In the article I posted its clearly stated it was written by Robert A Hall???the disclaimer. Here on PEI I’m the lone Ganges Boy (as far as I know) who are the Toronto lads??
Ganges ‘boys’ in Toronto are quite a few, but the ones I know and have visited are Fred Walsh who lives in Newcastle and Terry Smith who lives in Port Dover. We visit quite regulary with Terry and wife Julie. With regards to your posting of ‘I’m tired etc.’ I get such a lot of that sort of material in my e-mail reportedly written by people of worthiness i.e. Robert A. Hall or Bill Cosby, that I can only think it is put out there to generate hate amongst people of a different race, or religion. Perhaps we get more of it here in the States. Anyway I was just slightly surprised that you posted such a message on your blog. I am aware of the difficulties the government of Canada seem to be causing with regard to relations amongst immigrant people and Native Americans but as it is only hearsay perhaps I should stay away from the problem. I meant no offence to you personally. Tony.
I might just add that Robert A. Hall’s missive and Bill Crosbys’ is word by word perfect give or take age and dates. Tony.
Hi Tony no offense was taken, was just confused over who originated this article, seems a bit of plagiarism was afoot. I received the article from a shipmate in the UK. While it might be considered hate to some people,I think it is justified especially in the UK where Muslim clerics tried to create a Sharia law district in London. I haven’t heard any words of peace from the Muslim communities around here lately or elsewhere for that matter. Regarding Ganges Boys I ‘m familiar with the name Fred Walsh but haven’t met him. I think he was the Ganges Rep for the Ontario Region. Yours Aye Ben
