Well, the Conservatives brought down their Budget yesterday and today a lot of people are scrambling to keep their jobs. At my age I don’t have to worry too much, I’m already receiving my pension and Linda will get hers long before the new rules come into play. I have to say I mostly agree with raising the pension age to 67. Many will argue its the wrong thing to do, and low income people will suffer because of this change. However, over the last ten or fifteen years we have seen numerous people protesting against mandatory retirement at age 65. Sounds somewhat like the old saying, “you can’t have your cake and eat it”. I was pleased to see the humble Penny is being phased out this year, considering it cost more than its worth to produce its about time!! Listening to the radio it appears the Dept of Veteran Affairs is the most worried and probably most effected. I don’t see that as so bad either, for years DVA has been a place of government patronage. Sadly though it will be the real works that are cut not the government cronies that sit on panels and boards. But hey!! when did our governments do things because they were the right thing to do. Just my two cents worth, oops!! maybe that should now read ,my nickles worth!!!
Cheers and keep reading.
