Titanic Sails

On the 2nd April 1912 the Titanic sailed at 1800hrs (6pm)for sea trials which were successfully completed. Then at 2000hrs she headed into the Irish Sea en-route to Southhampton, where she would arrive the following day. The worse maritime disaster in our history was now only days away.
Over the next week or so there will be numerous articles, events and TV shows about the Titanic. It is amazing how this ship has captured the hearts and minds of so many for so long. Its rather odd to think the Titanic sister ship the RMS Olympic successfu plied the North Atlantic ferrying thousands of passengers back and forth across the Atlantic without incident or death. The Olympic sailed from 1912 until 1935, and was later scrapped. Yet she is an almost forgotten ship in our Maritime history.
Cheers and keep reading.
