Mystery Naval Transport

The plot thickens!!! just came across this second photo of the strange little vehicle believed to be an Austin Seven circa 1938. The civilian use appears to be perhaps at a holiday camp such as Billy Butlins?
Question is how did the navy get a hold of it?? Did the dept of Defense maybe take over a holiday camp during the war? Did a sailor nick it on a run ashore?(highly possible) but only if he could drive. Maybe my old shipmate Tony will know? maybe he can post the photos to the Ganges web site for me. I’m not sure how to post photos there. I also note, the trailer with the sailors in it looks to be the same one as the one in the rear in the other photo
I wonder what ever happened to the little vehicle??? guess we’ll never know.
Cheers and keep reading.

Your ‘old’ shipmate here Ben. I have downloaded the pictures in a new thread on the Ganges site named Austin 7?, we will see if anything comes up of interest. However I do not believe that you do not know how to download the pictures onto this site, considering your better knowledge of the workings of a computer than I. If you want me to download more pictures it will cost you at least a pint per pic. Tony.
