The sun is shining, the humming birds are back and we have done a first grass cut. Its a good time and a busy time fulfilling normal and unexpected events. Normal is taking the dogs walking on the back shore, they are like children getting so excited when they realize where we are going. The not so normal happened on the weekend,our good friends Carl & Jan had their son and family visiting from Ontario. Their car broke down and repairing would have cost more that it was worth. They have three children plus luggage for five,how to get home, what to do?? We solved the problem by selling them our 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan, it was the ideal answer. We were planing to sell it in a couple of weeks anyway, the van and family are all safely back in Ontario now. I have been having problems getting my 6 volt flasher system to work on the Lambretta. Another solution was found! remove them from the vehicle, lots of scooters from that era came without signals. Riders merely use hand signals, now I just have to make sure the front and rear lights are working properly and its off for inspection. I have to admit the Lambretta has been getting me down lately and I have considered buying a new model. So much more simple, auto trans electric start and no need to mix the oil/gas its auto too. However, it makes sense to ride the Lambretta for a while to see if I like scooter travel??before spending more cash. Linda announced yesterday that she is going to sell the VW Bus (photo in post) we are really thinning out the stable this year. It makes sense too, we didn’t need the Dodge and we don’t need the VW and they cost money and were hardly used. Of course the Rover,Linda’s bike, and our Toyota are staying, can’t sell all our toys.. That what happens in the summer we thin out the inventory then go flea marketing to restock??? On Saturday I did my civic duty cleaning the ditches around my property, its the WI island wide clean up this week. Nice to keep our island clean by picking up all the garbage thrown into the ditches over the winter. So you see summer time is a busy time, but I’m not complaining! Oops!! have to go,Linda is waving a paint brush at me???
