Another great day in the life of Canada, this wonderful and beautiful country. I’m proud to be a Canadian citizen and grateful I was allowed the privilege to become one. I first landed in Halifax on the 18th January 1964 aboard the submarine Alcide. I spent two years with the 6th Canadian Submarine Sqdn. In 1966 I returned home to Ireland, left the Navy and returned to make my life in Canada. I sailed back to Halifax via the Cunard Line docking at Pier 21. It seems like yesterday, but Pier 21 is now a museum. I guess I have been here a while. Happy Birthday Canada.
Cheers and keep reading.

SNAP my fellow Celtic Immigrant. we arrived via the Queen Mary now a Museum and hotel so I guess we are both aging. Some Canadians still do not realise the privilege and enormity of being a Canuck. A real mixture ( Melting Pot) of a country. We open our doors to one and all. The latest McRobb to enter this world is my as yet unamed grand daughter.I pray that Canada remains strong and free for her lifetime. Happy Canada you and Linda and your family
