I act as standards director for the Duke of Edinburgh awards on PEI. I was once asked if driver Ed could be used as a skill. The answer is yes. However, watching the drivers here on the island you would never know that it was a skill. We must have some of the worse drivers in Canada. Cell phone users, texters, coffee drinkers, hair stylist, dogs on lap, sight seeing, traffic light racers,Oh! hi neighbour lets stop and chat, First into roundabout wins, first out of roundabout wins. They are all members of the PEI drive others off the road club. The Guts and Glory Gang, The keep bicycles off our roads brigade, and the Hogs club (nothing to do with Harley Owners Club) we have them all. It wouldn’t be so bad if they all drove 1937 Austin 7 HP cars, or maybe skate boards!!!!! No, maybe not, likely they would still be dangerous?
Drive alive!!!!
Cheers and keep reading.

How apropo your Blog is today as this headline was in the news recently
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/teens-not-driven-licences-080704418.html
As an older driver being licensed since 1960 ( Yes they had cars Then) I cannot estimate the number of miles or Kliks that I have accumulated. Crossing Canada many times by car over the years as well as. Driving in many foreign ports. I remember you telling me about being the driver for the Captain when your sub was in Oz. All that aside we are of a different era. I must admit that Islanders put some third world countries to shame with their Driving Habits.
The round abouts are a genuine laugh. I remember when they built a test roundabout out at Slemon park in order that Islanders could practice. I shook my head at that. Anyway as usual you hit the nail on the head with your insightful Blog.
Take care and Drive Defensivley on PEI and the environs,
Robby
Thanks for your kind words Robby, as always you remain my all time favourite conservative!!!!!
