Two years ago today I posted the above caption “Thankful for Small Mercies”. I’d been home about ten days after receiving quadruple bypass surgery at the Queen Elizabeth 2 hospital in Halifax Nova Scotia. It was a long road to recovery but I thank God for the skill of the surgeons, my beloved wife, my children and my beautiful grandchildren. I teased my grandson Christopher when he visited me, that I could get him a good part time job emptying the bed pans. He wasn’t sure what bed pans were used for, but flatly refused the job once I explained!!!. It was a time when I need humour and laughter.
