Bending History at Hollywood

bulldog
Hollywood have long been guilty of making their own versions of History. The latest movie to claim Americans as the heroes is apparently in “Argo”. I have not seen this movie but understand it is the story of the US embassy staff trapped in Iran being rescued by a special US team of CIA agents. When in fact the escape was effected by the staff of the Canadian embassy. This is just another Hollywood attempt to create a bogus history of the facts. Some time ago they made a submarine movie “U 571” where a US submarine captures a U Boat and retrieves a much sought after secret Enigma code machine used by the German U Boat service. Another twist of facts, the Royal Navy ship HMS Bulldog actually captured the enigma machine on 9th May 1941.
I have nothing against Hollywood movies, they are most often good entertainment, but that is all they are. If you want to learn history learn from factual history books, do not rely on Hollywood.
How many people see and believe these movies to be fact???
Just my two cents worth
