There is a big argument going on in the USA at the present moment over Gay Marriages. Frankly I don’t see a problem with this issue. Many years ago when I lived on the Isle of Wight in the village of Brighstone. Just down the road from my home there lived two old female school teachers. They were retired and known in the community as two old spinsters? I other words two girls that sadly never received offers of marriage, at least that was how it was explained in those days. However it is much more likely they lived together as two gay lovers. Such names or terms did not exist in the 1950’s and clearly no gay person would or could openly admit to it. Now when I think back, these two ladies did me no harm did not cause any problems within the community. Indeed they did much good as teachers, volunteers, church members and as good neighbours. I fail to see how being gay is a threat to other married couples, to churches, to children or even to society in general. Too many people equate gays and pedophiles as being one and the same. They are not the same, pedophiles are a problem in society and a serious danger too our children. One might think about the many many incidents with Priests violating young boys in the Catholic church. Yet why does the Catholic church remains so anti gay??? How do two gay people living together in the privacy of their home, much like any other married couple, offend or affront the churches who are up in arms over the issue. Surely its a question of live and let live. I have several gay friends, they are good and decent human beings, just as normal as you and I.
We only pass this way once, so try to do it with decency and kindness to your fellow human beings. It is not our job to judge, and it is certainly not the job of the churches to judge either!!!
God Bless and keep reading.
