Drunk Driving!!!!

I have posted a family photo for this post because so many families have been torn apart by drunk drivers. So why have I decided to talk about this subject today? Yesterday I attended the British Car Show in Cymbria, it was a beautiful day, lots of beautiful cars, lots of good people and great automotive stories, some even true!!!! However, I saw something that really disgusted me and something quite out of place at a car show or indeed anywhere else for that matter. I believe most people are aware of the two groups known as MADD and SADD, Mothers against drunk drivers – Students against drunk drivers. But who would recognize this acronym? “DAMM”. I certainly had no idea of its meaning. It was printed boldly on the T shirt of a particularly loud character, I’m sure you can imagine the type, they are very hard to miss or avoid. He proudly announced that DAMM stood for “drunks against mad mothers”. I can’t begin to understand the mentality of someone who would find this appropriate or funny. I was frankly disgusted, just a mile from the show site an elderly lady cyclist was killed last year by a drunk driver. There is nothing remotely funny about drinking and driving. How he could wear such a T shirt and worse yet be proud of it, makes me sick. Has this clown ever stopped to think what he might feel if he lost a loved one to a drunk driver. No!! probably not, the capability to think is obviously a dept he is seriously lacking in.
It put a nasty stain on what was otherwise a great day. I guess it is enough to make sane people both mad and sad!!!
