Thinking of all my old shipmates at this special time of year. I will tip a glass of Irish to you this Christmas day. How many days did we spend away from families and loved ones at Christmas
whilst in the Royal Navy. Sad times but wonderful times too. Dreadful on board Christmas dinners, usually dried out and burnt but perhaps a slight level above the usual mealtime fare. The tot of rum always helped make the food go down. At this time of year I often think of my amazing shipmates and friends, some are gone now and others are aging gracefully, like me!!! (maybe??). Wishing you all a Very Happy Christmas and Great New Year, take care old friends, you are always in my memories.
