Giving Budge a Break!!!

snowsnowsnowAlthough I received an amazing response to my blogs about my sweet daughter Susannah, it is alas! time to give her a break while she’s still calling me Dad. I’m at a loose end today, its my school day but schools are closed. Its the day I go into the school to work with the grade one students helping with their reading. I have been doing this every Wednesday for the past 15 years and love it. However, today is an Island wide school shut down because of the weather. We are expecting somewhere between 25 and 30 centimeters of snow very high winds. The Weather Centre have issued a blizzard warning for the whole island. Time to batten down the hatches again and find a good book, the snow has already begun. Newfoundland will have no Premier today if she actually makes the announcement to resign. Lucky NFLD!! I wish Robert Ghiz would follow suit. But I wouldn’t want our Finance Minister(Wes Sheridan) to take over. That would be out of the frying pan and into the fire. Their latest reckless and irresponsible action is to overturn the moratorium on deep water wells for the potato industry. Am I the only one asking what happens to the normal/shallow wells after the big industrial wells start sucking up this precious and irreplaceable vital life giving resource???  Makes this blizzard, indeed any blizzard seem like a minor annoyance when compared to the Ghiz Government actions. We can only hope and pray wiser heads will prevail.

God Bless and keep reading
