This must surely be the end of the world as we know it???
It was bad enough when the worlds finest automobile, the famous British Rolls Royce was sold off to BMW/VW. Not sure who owns what , one owns the rights to the “Spirit of Ecstasy” the flying lady hood ornament and the other owns the car?. Rover was one of the last British made cars to go following the demise of many others, the MG-Austin-Hillman Riley-Vauxhall etc etc. Now we are losing even more iconic and traditionally the finest products in the world. A Mexican company has bought out the oldest whiskey distiller in the world. The famous Irish BushMills distillery where Black Bush Whiskey has been blended from the pure waters of Northern Ireland for 500 years.
Making the day even bleaker, the Japanese have been awarded with making the very finest single malt whiskey in the world. Oh dear!!! the poor Scots, they couldn’t break ties with England and now this, can it get any worse???? It is surely enough to drive a man to the drink, not the Japanese whiskey though, some of us are still loyal and indeed no one asked us which brands we consider the best, and I don’t mean Toyota or Honda . What was that popular hit song from the sixties? “See the USA in a Chevrolet”. I think I’ll go back to bed now, things might look better tomorrow!!!
