No!! I have not become a Jehovah Witness!!! in fact I doubt very much they would take me. However, I do have something rather special to report, it is especially nice because it happened during Christmas Season the time when families come together to celebrate the birth of Christ. I posted a blog on the 1st Dec looking for a shipmate who served with me aboard the submarine Alcide, his daughter had been attempting to locate him for several years. Through my blog and with the help of another shipmate Andrea finally received news of her father, alas too late as he had passed away a few months earlier. Nevertheless this story has a beautiful ending for Andrea. I will post a portion of a letter sent by my shipmate Tony. Also I would like to thank Tony for his great effort in helping this young lady.
Hi Ben, Just thought I would give you a quick update on our mission to unite Andrea with her family. She made contact initially through an intermediary, first to her half brother Gary Hutchinson who lives in Manchester. He broke down at first and was ‘so excited’ evidently his father, before dying had told him of his first wife and of Andrea, he said that they wanted to find her but didn’t know how to go about it. Contact was made direct and both of them are happily in conversation with each other.
Her half sister, Treena Brown who lives in Bedworth near Nuneaton is equally excited to meet her new sister. She also has another sister who lives in Queensland Australia, Andrea is off shortly to England to meet her new family. However, Australia being so far away, meeting her other sister may have to wait awhile

What a lovely result for Andrea and I feel so happy to have played a small part in reuniting her with family, especially at this wonderful time of year. Merry Christmas Andrea and to all your new family a Wonderful and Happy New Year.
God Bless and keep reading
