Last night I watched Evan Solomon host the TV show Power & Politics, He was in particular addressing the issue of Bill C51 the new Harper Government anti terrorist bill. There is much concern the bill reaches too far into our private lives and freedoms. Too many loop holes to allow the arrests of non violent protestors. It is suggested that the RCMP/CSIS can target groups merely for protesting such things as Fraking, Pipe Lines, Logging industry,Over Fishing, Chemical Spraying etc etc. They cloak it under the argument if it is detrimental to the country’s economy then it is terrorism. Evan invited a panel from the three major political parties to discuss the bill, each offering their own party’s point of view. Naturally the Conservative defended the bill claiming it was good for the country. The NDP pull no punches and came out adamantly opposed and with what seems to be sound reasoning. Then came to the Liberal member (wait for it) guess who Trudeau sent to defend the Liberals for siding with Harper???? Our very own Wayne Easter, he mumbled on about maybe some amendments, but pointed out that in the next election the people would choose. What this discussion had to do with an election yet to be announced eludes me, I thought we were talking about our civil liberties. Poor old Wayne was completely out of his depth on the subject and looked distinctly uncomfortable. Funny that! because that is usually the roll for the Conservative Representative defending another bad Harper policy. If you will recall its not many weeks since Easter stated in the Globe and Mail that the (“Needles in PEI Potatoes”) which is an ongoing RCMP investigation, the likely culprit was probably an angry environmentalist. With a point of view like that he should perhaps be invited to speak on behalf of Mr Harper in any upcoming and possibly difficult bills. Justin if you really hope to become the next PM, you really need to smarten up and listen to what your members are saying. Not a great choice if Wayne is right about an election, because, from where I sit there is little difference between the Liberal Policies and the Conservative policies according to Wayne????

About the only profession that appreciates politicians are Surgeons, when they open them up to operate they fine no guts, no spine , no heart and no distinct difference between the rear end and the head so they are interchangeable. Easy peasey to put back together.
Gee Neville you are quite an authority on the medical know how for politicians, but I have to wonder if these surgeons don’t often put the head and the tail back in the wrong positions
