The photo was taken a few years ago, and as you can see I’m surrounded by three women of international fame. Seriously, there remains a dreadful inequality between men and women. Certainly here at home, but so much worse in Middle Eastern and Asian nations. The Western World was changed forever by such brave women as Pankhurst and her group who fought for the vote at the turn of the 20th century. Women have indeed raised their own profile by their own efforts and achievements, today we see them working in every walk of life. However, there remains much to be done, particularly in nations like India and Islamic states. I believe the answer to equality must be forced by the women of these suppressed states. Of course men must play a role but it is the women who must rise up and demand their rights. It will not be easy, even dangerous, but I believe it is the only way. When a man loses the support of his women things rapidly deteriorate, who washes his clothes, cooks his food, maintains his home, tends his wounds and ailments, shares his bed. A few men can manage to look after themselves but only a few, the majority have no clue. I’m for equality and can speak from experience because I have three very smart, very accomplished women in my life. Without whom I doubt I could manage in the life style to which I have come to expect. Therefore, today is a most important day and should be celebrated by all men. Bravo to Women’s International Day.
God Bless and keep reading.
