Can Muslims be good Americans/Canadians?

Below are the words that I ended yesterday’s blog with. I felt a need to post the article regarding if Muslims can be good Americans/Canadians. Not because it was so factual  or even close to the truth, but more because the issue is of great concern to so many people. We have had dreadful and savage incidents here in Canada, the UK, France, Australia and many many other places. Nevertheless, can we in all honesty blame Muslims, all Muslims as the perpetrators. Were all Germans guilty when Hitler and his band of fanatics gradually grew in strength and power. Has there ever been a war not caused by religion? maybe , but it seems the majority were over religious beliefs.  I do not have the answers and I doubt anyone else does either. I do think if we treat each other with respect and understanding it would go a long way to creating a peaceful society. Therefore, I post these articles to initiate and provoke discussion, to give others a chance to prove their points or deny mine. To give us all a better and more informed view of the world we live in.

I’m not sure most will agree with this, not sure I do myself, but it is certainly food for thought and should be a great concern to us all. Something we need to take seriously if not for us then for our children.

However, here is a question and answer response from a very good friend, he has lived and served in several Muslim nations. He has first hand knowledge and experience far more than I, and I value his views and opinions, please read on.

Can a good Muslim be a good American or Canadian?

This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.

The following is his reply: with comments from myself in Block.

Theologically – no. … Because his allegiance is to Allah. True

Religiously – no.. . .. Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam … (Quran, 2:256) (Koran) True

Scripturally – no. .. .. Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.True

Geographically – no Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day..False His allegiance is to Allah, Mecca is his Vatican, Wailing Wall or his Jerusalem

Socially – no. . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews …False..the q’oran as with the Christian Bible is open to interpretation, both Catholics and Protestants use the same Bible but many passages are interpreted differently. Ie. A woman must have her head covered in the Vatican or a Catholic Church. With muslim people I know GOOD people that call Islam their religion, but they enjoy social activities, a beer music and Dance. Even the Saudis drink and party when not in Saudi. They interpret the Q’oran to fit with their lives.

Politically – no… Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America , the great Satan. False Politics are not governed by the Q’oran. This is why so many so called Muslim countries were led by Dictators. Muslim people in Azerbaijan are very open and enjoy western values and lifestyles (I spent 6 years there)

Domestically – no. .. . Because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34 ) 50/50 As with members of some Christian sects, Mormons, Hutterites, polygamy is accepted even though it is against the Law in Canada and the USA and most western countries.

Intellectually – no… Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.False: if a muslim man or woman does not live in the USA they do not have to accept the American Constitution. I live in Canada and do not accept the American Constitution. As for intellect how many Doctors, Dentists, nurses and other professionals are muslim and believe in Allah yet work and treat non Muslims.

Philosophically – no. . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every

Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.False again, Syria, Iran, Egypt Tunisia and many more Islamic countries were free and democratic under some leaders until the Ayatolla’s, Imans and Mullahs started preaching Hatred for the west. I lived in Cairo for a year and have visited many times since 1973. The Niqab, and veils were few and far between, women dressed in western

clothes, There were bars and hotels that catered to those wishing to imbibe. Much like Dubai currently a prime example of an interpretation of the Q’oran.

Spiritually – no… Because when we declare ‘one nation under God,’ The Christian’s God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is

he ever called love in the Quran’s 99 excellent names. 50/50 No where in the Canadian bill of rights does it say One Nation Under God. That is strictly American. I do agree wholeheartedly that Canada, the US, The UK and many other western nations were predominantly Christian in their founding, but like the Sunnis and Sh’ites Christianity has believers and non believers, good and evil.

Therefore, after much study and deliberation….perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both ‘good’ Muslims Read your history prior to WW2 Adolf created suspicion about the Jewish people, He exterminated 6 million as history tells us. I for one do not feel that we wish to annihilate all muslim people.

and good Americans/Canadians. Call it what you wish it’s still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our countries and our future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand.TRUE: I agree with this statement totally. The religious war is bigger than most realise BUT not all Muslims are part of Jihad, the majority of Muslim people wish to loive and work for their families well being. It is groups like isis, boko haram, taliban,al quaida who INTERPRET the q’uoran for their own slanted views. We must remember that they are killing muslims as well as Christians and Jews.

So good people who read the Irish Rover’s Blog, please look at all sides of this story. I do not wish to see daish, isis or any of those terror groups in Canada, USa, UK or anywhere they are not wanted, They must be stopped by whatever means that are required. Our politically correct, do gooders and some politicians would try to make peace and reconciliation with these animals. This in it’self will do my grandchildren any good. They are the ones I fear for.

Footnote: The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within. SO FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

TRUE: The Muslims have said this over and over, but they are the minority of evil twisted muslims that create their own laws in the name of Allah.

In checking this story with SNOPES they say this story is an amended version of a US letter

Daesh or isis what is in a name?

So folks the story continues! we will probably never find all the answers, but we must keep searching.

God Bless and keep readingburka

The whole world took offense when Communism raised its ugly head way back after the second world war, to attempt to “Conquer the World” Islam has the same doctrine, we will take over the whole world. They attempted this in the 7th & 8th Centuries and failed. We must assure all peace loving nations that they will stop at nothing to succeed. Look at the rape statistics in Sweden by Muslims since they allowed them to immigrate into that country. Startling!!!

I see communism starting in Russia because of the Autocratic society. In other words the huge nation was ruled by a handful of wealthy and titled families under the Czar. Millions of peasants/slaves to the rich provide the wealth until the resulting revolution in 1917. I do not see Islamic beliefs in the same way or for the same reasons. The Catholic Church has much to answer for in previous centuries and were in many ways consistent in their actions to the Islamic doctrine we see today.. Its hard to understand and even more difficult to deal with. I have no real answers.

  3. James says:

I would like to ask the same about those pesky Christians that keep popping up all over Canada… I have read up on them and I think they need watching!

Theologically – no. … Because their allegiance is to Jesus.

Religiously – no. … Because no other religion is accepted by the church as the true religion. “The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is true and holy in these [other] religions.” (Vatican II meetings)

Scripturally – no. .. .. Because his allegiance is to the teachings of Jesus and the Bible.

Geographically – possibly .. But because his allegiance is to the Church then it is really to the Vatican (for Roman Catholics).

Socially – no. . . Because his allegiance to Christianity tells him he should not be friends with non-Christians “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14).

Politically – no… Because he must submit to the teachings of the Bible over human law […disobeying the law is permitted by Scripture is if the law contradicts God’s commands (Acts 5:29)]

Domestically – new testament possibly – old testament no. … Because polygamy is encouraged and really beating anyone who is your property is OK.

    Intellectually – no… Because intellectualism is discouraged — “I said to myself, ‘Look, I have increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge.’ Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.” —Ecclesiastes 1:16–18 “For the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered;
the days have already come when both have been forgotten.
Like the fool, the wise too must die!” —Ecclesiastes 2:16 “Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.” —Ecclesiastes 12:12

Philosophically – no. . . Because the Bible does not allow Man’s law to be put above God’s law “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. (Romans 13:1-2)

Spiritually – no… Because when we declare ‘one nation under God,’ The Christian’s God is both loving and kind and hateful and mean, Isaiah 45:7. “I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create evil. I the lord do all these things”

    Food for thought…

    All the best! 😉

I believe when I posted the original article I was neither for or against, at least that was my intention. What is clear is, no one person, no one group or religious organization has all the right answers. However, I see war as inevitable if we continue to demand our particular brand/belief as the only one that is right. This is the situation in the Middle East as Isis marauds across Iraq and Syria, they have no room or intention for compromise
