Saturday was an exciting day of soccer but I was eagerly awaiting the Sunday match between Arsenal and West Ham. The talk all week was that Arsenal looked like real league contenders this year. We have a world class goalkeeper and a solid team, at least that was the word. Well Arsenal showed up on their home ground and delivered a lack lustre performance losing by a score of 2-0. Not a great start to the new season, and not the type of game to indicate a winning team? I try not to be a naysayer so early in the season, but, Giroud had more that one great opportunity to score and didn’t, I have said before we need a solid goal scorer and it appears we still do. I’m also not sure about Ozil, he gets a lot of talk as a great player, but again I didn’t see that in today’s game. Lets hope this was just an off day and the Gunners quickly get back to winning ways. On top of this disappointment the weather was lousy so I didn’t go to the car show either. Not a good or busy weekend after all, but never mind, the new week mig be looing up!!! Duffy trial starts up again and promises some very interesting events to unfold, I’m sure Harper will want to hide in his closet again. However he can’t hide from the news media that is likely to herald the senate scandal loudly and clearly, not good for the Harper election campaign. Do I look sad for poor ole Stevie,, not at all, the b—–d deserves all he gets. And that is my view for the coming week, it could be exciting. Not too worry about Arsenal they will get their act together for the next match.
