Buying a Heat Pump

haet pumpI expect most of us can say that have purchased something based on a popular advertizing plug. We can also say we have often bought something that was of little use, just a waste of money. It has happened to most people at one time or another. I find myself in that sort of situation today,(but in a good way) last year we bought a heat pump. The purpose was to save on the huge oil bills we generate in the long cold winters here on PEI. Our new heat pump did a great job and our heating costs were very low when compared to using oil. Summer arrived and I gave the heat pump little thought, it was off most of the time. However, the last few weeks have been extremely hot and humid and I quickly discovered how our little heat pump is also a wonderful source of air conditioning. It is more than just a heat pump its a cold pump too! we have a very comfortable home thanks to the air conditioning from this pump. Strange, because when I purchased the unit I was focused on heating only so finding the air con is an additional and mostly unexpected benefit. Before you ask, No, I’m not selling Heat Pumps or getting a commission for promoting them. I happen to think when a product is good people should be told. We are all quick to tell the world when we buy something that turns out to be junk. That folks, is my view from the pleasant cool air in my office.
