Shortly after an election there is a period known as the honeymoon. It appears the MacLauchlan Provincial government are enjoying a rather longer than usual honeymoon. I suppose this is partly due to the Federal election campaign that is underway. Its hard to focus while singing along to the latest Harperman ditty. It is such a catchy foot stomping tune. Nevertheless, It seems to me the Provincial government has been very quiet on the outrages of the Ghiz administration. Are we to believe that Ghiz and Sheridan get off Scot free after attempting to initiate a questionable gambling scheme on the backs of Island tax payers? Are we to believe they are also free from an investigation into the PNP scandal? In the last election the Liberals made promises of Accountability, they said they’d amend the Conflict of Interest Act, have they done so??? Was Ghiz and Sheridan not in a conflict of interest? They made a promise of Implementing a policy on Whistle Blowing, have they done so??? I haven’t heard any whistles blowing lately. Finally they promised to enhance accountability of the legislative assembly. I haven’t heard anything about that to date either. In fact the government have been rather silent on many outstanding and questionable matters.
Oh Dear!! silly me I have just realized our hard working MLA`s are on summer break. But no doubt they have continued to be busy and working hard attending BBQ’s, Strawberry festivals and Blueberry socials. We all know that is a very important part of running the Province Eh!!!!
God Bless and keep reading.
