I have to comment on the recent letters to the Editor of the Guardian Newspaper of PEI. I have always considered the letters as a way to express ones point of view on current issues. To date, I have enjoyed 
reading the many varied opinions and remarks. However, lately the site has become a place for two university Profs to spar. We have Mr Deaton with his firmly held views on the current world situations. Next we have Mr Srebrnik airing his opposite opinions. There is nothing wrong in airing ones personal take on an issue. However, I do have problems when two university intellects decide to wage a war of words on this site. Keep your ego’s in check gentlemen, if you have to dispute one another do it on the university grounds, not in the newspaper. I doubt too many readers are impressed with your use of words we rarely hear or indeed understand. Just an ego trip so please cease and desist.
