I do not often complaint on my blog about Island drivers. I do often complain to Linda whilst we drive around doing errands. However, last night I saw the most stupidity ever behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. We were heading home from Summerside on hwy 11. We were between Miscouche and the Wellington turn of (approx 5 mile stretch). First a Honda Civic raced passed a long line of vehicles that were doing the speed limit of 90 KPH. Traffic was coming the other way and I thought the Honda driver had needlessly risked his/her life and others in such a reckless overtaking. But the Honda looked quite good by comparison of what happened next. This big Dodge Ram truck (might have been Ford or GMC) appeared right behind it. He was flying! as he passed us I could hear his engine screaming he must have floored the pedal. He was passing in a left turn lane, fortunately for him no one was turning left. He had to break heavy just to force himself in between vehicles ahead of us and avoid an oncoming tractor trailer. This was such a close call, the driver of the truck risked not only his life but the lives of those around him. If he had failed to get back into the right lane in time to avoid the oncoming traffic we would have been involved if a major accident. When we reached the Wellington turn off there was the truck and Honda just ahead of us? So much for all their racing and risking lives, idiots both of them.!!
God Bless and keep reading.
