Life is good, Linda and I sat out in our home made gazebo for an hour or so this evening. We sipped a cold beer and listened to the sounds of birds going about their business in the trees. Off in the distance we heard the roll of thunder and watch as the sky gradually darkened. Soon the heavy rain pelleted the roof and the air cooled. It was quite beautiful, lush green vegetation surrounded us, the cool fresh air tinted with a damp rain wafted through the screens. We talked about this and that but mainly about how blessed we are to live in such splendor. Every once in a while a bright flash of lightening brightened sky. The highway was busier than usual, fire trucks roared by with red lights blinking, some times a siren blared. For a brief moment our silence and tranquilly was interrupted There was a barn fire a few miles up the road but we were too comfortable to go see what was happening. I’m sure the firefighters welcome the sudden rain fall to help douse the flames. Back in doors now, the rain has stopped and the wind dropped off, its supper time and we are both a wee bit peckish!!!Fresh Corn on the Cob!!!!
