It was very refreshing to learn that my blogs about Legion matters are being widely shared. It is encouraging to know I’m not alone in my concerns about the legion hierarchy. The letter attached to this blog was a response to my earlier blog about Joan.
I am a friend and advocate for Joan Beznoski. I administer a Facebook page called Veterans Supporting Joan Beznoski against Royal Canadian Legion Abuse. I have been sharing your Blogs about the Legion on this page. Thank you for writing them.
Regarding the matter of the free one year memberships for new Vets. I find this offer grossly offensive. I see it as nothing more than a paltry 2 cent discount to entice one to come into a crappy store to buy crappy merchandise.
Secondly and more importantly, I have been advised that the current executive of the Lac du Bonnet Legion, the group that threw a coup on the previous executive and the ones that suspended Joan, gave themselves and a few of their buddies Life Time Memberships and none of them have ever served a day!

So folks the struggle continues, we need to see some drastic changes at legion HQ’s both nationally and provincially. We need many more veterans to speak out for change, the present legion is not owned or controlled by veterans.
