The difference between big ponds and little ponds are the size of the fish in them. The big pond just south of us is inhabited by a big dangerous fish, perhaps better described as a killer shark. Our smaller PEI pond is inhabited by a little fish, perhaps better described as minnows. Yet there are similarities that we need to pay attention too. The big shark has declared to make his pond “Great Again”. Our little fish (minnow) has declared our pond is a “Mighty Island”, (remember we were once known as the Gentle Island?). The big shark is making many outrageous claims and creating hatred among his followers. Our little fish is also making outrageous claims and making our once gentle pond stormy and dangerous.
Lets concentrate on our little pond where the minnows rule the waves. Unfortunately the minnows have become sharks in our little pond. They have become mighty and do as they see fit while the rest of us barely can keep our heads above water. Over the years the minnows have grown bolder and more daring. . They have grown fat on the burgeoning algae of being overfed on PNP’s, E gaming, scandal after scandal and making minnow buddies rich with resorts and golf courses. When our big minnows commits a crime they are not charged, when they tell lies, they are not actually lies, but big minnow alternative facts based on the biggest minnow’s point of view. When all the tiny minnows vote for change the Big minnow denies them.
Anyone besides me find this a somewhat sordid and fishy story??? Has the time arrived when our little pond needs a good cleaning out of bottom feeders. Anyone find this as a rather fishy parallel to our Liberal government? Maybe its time we went fishing?
