Some interesting items in today’s newspaper. First in letters to the editor, it is worth reading (Living World Disappearing) the writer makes some very interesting and valid points, well worth a read. On the front page I note one Gary Morgan is against PR, his reasoning, his area will lose the 5 MLAs they presently have and go to only two. Does he really think those five actually speak for him? Seems to me all the liberal MLAs only speak for MacLauchlan and the liberal party. I also recall many comments that we have far too many MLAs .?. PR will provide that level playing field that the liberals so often mention. Finally the Brown Boys, the finger and the clapping after a citizen shouted Honour The Vote. Do we really want or need people like these two making policy decisions for islanders, I think not. We need PR on so many levels that this next election will be extremely important if this beautiful land is to survive. I hope and pray that enough voters are paying attention and do what is necessary in the upcoming election. If we fail we will only see more political secrecy and lack of transparency. More power to the two major corporations (McCain and Irving) more deep water wells, more poisonous chemical spraying. more forced amalgamations, more taxes (carbon tax) and less health care, education, and affordable housing. The future could be better or it could be much worse, its up to Islanders.
God Bless and keep reading
