I’d be the first to admit I know very little about this coming carbon tax. However, on PEI there is already cause for concern. If I understand correctly, our Provincial government have already stated, then farmers and fishers will be exempt, Duh. If the carbon tax is being put in place to avert the disaster of climate change, why are some people exempt. Will climate change not effect farming? can fishers go fishing during a hurricane?. Seriously, this all sounds like a tax grab from our corrupt island government. It will have little effect on the climate but a big effect on islanders. Is it only me or do others see the many old heavy trucks and agricultural vehicles plying our highways belching smoke into the air. Even several of our Island waste management vehicles are great belchers of dirty black smoke. Its also rare to find any of these vehicles sporting a valid license plate or indeed any plate at all. Makes me wonder if they are even safety inspected? Everyone on the planet breath the same air, suffer the same heat waves and droughts, no one will be exempt! Climate change will be a world disaster if the
temperature and seas continue to rise. Our leaders might want to consider, if that happens, no one will be around to pay their carbon tax. Just my thoughts on the lack of action and just one more money grabbing tax ploy
God Bless and keep reading
