Creating an Irving Hot Seat

I don’t get out and about much these days, consequently I spend much of my time thinking. Regarding the Irving Corporation I seem to come up empty on ideas to thwart their activities. It would not be practical to boycott them, we have to buy gas, we need to buy groceries, maybe not French fries. However, if we boycotted French fries I doubt the Irving’s would even notice. So what do we do? large public protests might help a wee bit, but that takes a lot of effort time and a lot of people. That does not leave us with too many options. Nevertheless, we cannot just give up and allow the rape of our land water and air to continue. I believe the only real option is the Provincial government and all elected MLAs and federal MPs. We need to flood them with our concerns, pester the hell out of them. Demand action every time we see something happening, fish kill, top soil blowing away. Anything that is detrimental to the health of the province. By making our politicians work for us I Believe life will become ever more difficult for the Irving’s. It may not be the whole answer but I believe it would prevent much of what has been allowed in the past. When we go to the polls candidates should be very aware of what the electorate expect from them. Those are my thoughts on this warm and sunny Sunday morning.
God Bless and keep reading.

Excellent suggestion. There’s one sentence that struck me. I was impressed that you included the last two words. The sentence: “By making our politicians work …..” and then comes what we are looking for, “….. for us.”
