Linda just received her renewed passport today, I haven’t bothered my days of travel are well behind me. The thought of a new passport brought back some old memories. It’s somewhat different from our previous passports. The pages contain a brief history of Canada in images. I won’t list them all , too many, they include HMCS Sackville, Bluenose, the last spike in the trans Canada railway line. Most particular and of special interest to me is the mention of Pier 21 in Halifax. I landed as a new immigrant at Pier 21 on 18th January 1967. Seems such a long time ago now, well I guess it is eh! (Did that sound Canadian)? I did arrive a few years earlier in January 1964 aboard a Royal Navy submarine HM/SM Alcide and spent two years with the 6th Canadian Submarine Squadron. Went home in August 1966 then returned as a civilian in 1967. Thank you Canada for allowing me to live in this wonderful land. I have had a great life with my beautiful Canadian wife and two lovely daughters.
God Bless Canada and keep reading
