I would never try tell anyone how to vote, however, It might be ok to offer advice. If you noted the very recent election in New Brunswick, the PC Government was given a majority with only 39% on the vote. That means 60% of votes didn’t count. That result is no stranger in this province we have continually elected either the liberals or conservatives with similar percentages. In all these elections a larger percentage of votes count for nothing. That must surely tell us we need to change the election process. FPTP is not working, well it’s working for the two old party’s. You can be sure they are not about to change the system without being pushed to do so. It is not going to happen federally either, we saw that with Trudeau’s empty promise in the last general election. Right now we have minority governments federally and provincially. We will
never have a better opportunity to force a change in the system. How do we do that? Here on PEI we make sure in the Winslow By Election we do not elect a liberal or a PC. It’s not important if you vote Green, NDP or independent. Just as long as we do not give either of the old party’s a false majority. That will also apply in the next federal election, we need to send a message that we are fed up
with the FPTP system. It doesn’t work and never will, it is essential we change to Proportional Representation. For a better future and better government. No one can argue the last two terms of the Trudeau government have had nothing but scandal after scandal.
Surely, we as Canadians deserve better than these self serving, self entitled politicians lining their pockets while the old the poor and homeless continue to struggle.
