All Talk No Action

This caption pretty much sums up Islanders. We complain about the Irving’s, the spraying, the holding ponds, deep wells, the destruction of the soil, the polluting of our rivers and on and on it goes. We shake our heads in frustration, mutter to one another, but never any real action. The big question is what can we do to stop Robert Irving from doing as he pleases. I see one simple answer, stop re-electing Liberals or Conservatives. Over the last many years both of these party’s have pandered to Irving. I make the point regarding the “Water Act” it took forever to arrive at the act. In 2017 the act came into being, its now 2020 and it still has not become law. In the meantime Irving is digging huge holding ponds to circumvent the moratorium on deep wells. The sneaky way Irving bought up more land in the Bedeque area. Government did nothing, and it now has been swept aside and forgotten.  There are numerous other incidents that our two old party’s have chose to ignore. It seems they both have a policy of don’t rock the boat, don’t upset the Irving’s. If we are going to stop this invasion of our water, air, soil, and rivers we need to change the people we vote for. I shudder each time I think of Ghiz, MacLauchlan and King. They continue to give the Irving’s whatever they want, with no thought for the people of PEI.  If we are ever going to change things we have to stop electing these same people. I really don’t care how a person votes but please think long and hard before you make your mark. If any candidate or their party do not have the environment at the top of their list, then do not vote for them. We must change how we think, how we vote. It is surely the time to enforce Proportional Representation. The Liberals and Conservatives will tell you it is in the planning stages. Do not be fooled again, regardless of what they may tell us, it’s not on their agenda,  We need anything but this endless parade of Liberals and Conservatives, they must be stopped before it’s too late.  That folks is my Monday morning rant!

God Bless and keep reading.

We have always complained, but if the attempt stops there we’re wasting our time.
