Slow Reaction

Interesting how after more than six weeks into the very serious potato crisis, three island MPs finally decide to do something. Morrissey, Casey and MacDonald decide to write a letter to the Prime Minister asking him to intervene in the US border closing. Question that must be asked, why did it take so long for them to take action. Not that this is real or forceful action or likely to achieve anything. However, even a more important question to ask,  is why our fourth MP was not part of this action? Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veteran Affairs took no part nor signed his name to the letter? One has to wonder why! Perhaps he doesn’t want to upset his boss, maybe lose his cabinet post. Must keep on the good side of Justin eh. Lawrence is close to retirement, and retiring as a cabinet minister brings him a larger pension. Nothing to do with the people who voted for him, many of whom are potato farmers. Surely this is just in his own self interest. Simply put, “greed”. Sadly these is the type of politicians we get these days.
