Legion finally goes biodegradeable

I listened to someone representing the Royal Canadian Legion on the radio this morning 5th May 2022.  It really sounded like the legion was doing something wonderful, setting a good example, caring for the environment. Duh! People have been asking for this for years. A friend of mine was telling the story of his brother who was lost when his ship sank during the war.  While on a cruise he arranged to have the Captain stop at the position of the sinking and hold a brief service. He had purchased a wreath from the legion to drop at the site. However, when the service began, the Captain refused to allow the wreath to be thrown overboard. The reason, it was not bio degradable, in other words, pollution. My friend was understandably upset, however the Captain was absolutely correct in not allowing it.  That was over thirty years ago and it is only now the legion have decided to do something! I suppose better late than never, but the legion should have done this years ago. Hardly a reason to brag today
God Bless and keep reading.
