Summerside Exotic Car Show

my 83 years I have attended many car shows, antique, classic, British, concours and today what was billed as exotic. Hmm, I have seen more exotic cars in the Super Store parking lot. This was without a doubt the least interesting show of my entire car show career. Someone described it as a tuner show, never heard that one before. I guess it means cars with tuned or souped up engines. The place was filled with mostly little foreign four cylinder cars, Honda, Toyota, and Mazda, the models were circa 2000-1980. The type of cars with young drivers that race off at lights, cut people off at intersections and roundabouts. Wear baseball caps backwards and have a CTC special noise maker muffler. We arrived at 1.30 pm , I spotted an Austin Healey near the entrance. Unfortunately the owner was preparing to leave. This was being promoted as a huge fund raiser for the Prince County Hospital with cars coming from across Canada and the US. It wasn’t cheap for a spectator or participant. It cost Linda and I $20 and we spent roughly half an hour on the site. Glad I decided not to enter at Austin that would have cost $30. It was noisy, smoky and the music was terrible. Hmm, perhaps it’s just me, am I growing too old? I don’t think so,I still look forward too and enjoy cars shows just not this particular exotic!!! one. I took my camera, but never saw anything I wanted to photograph. Never mind, Im off to Twin Shores show with the AUSTIN tomorrow. That will be exotic enough for me. However, to be fair I suppose most of the younger generation thought this was a great show.
God Bless and keep reading.
