I just received a very clever phone call/scam. My grandson phone me in serious trouble, he had been arrested in a vehicle with the driver who was found with drugs on his person. They were both arrested and being held in jail by the Drug Squad. My grandson was permitted one phone call, and called me. The voice on the phone sounded very much like my grandson, but also a little strange, he explained he had a cold. He called me because he was ashamed and didn’t want his parents to know. He pleaded with me not to tell anyone. please promise. The driver was in jail and would remain there for thirty days until his court appearance. In my grandsons case, he had been drug tested and proved drug free. Now came the catch. If I could post bail the detective Bruce Howard could have my grandson see the judge today and would be home free by 4pm. The bail money needed to be in cash ($15000) the detective suggested I go to the bank, then bring the money home. He would call me back in approximately two hour. He would then instruct me on how to post the bail. I was at first taken in by this call because the voice of grandson sounded real. However, after hanging up we started to think, maybe we should check this out a bit further. My wife called the RCMP and the moment we mentioned cash they immediately said this was a scam. We were advised not answer any further phone calls. So please be wary, these scams can seem very real sometimes. Our grandson was fine and was at work all day.
God Bless and don’t be fooled

Exact same thing happened to my elderly neighbor. She actually sent $10,000 by FEDX. Fortunately the money was intercepted at their (FEDX) office in Truro and returned the money to her. You cannot send cash by FEDX. Thing is the caller spoke Acadian French.
Hi Russ it’s becoming more sophisticated with each scam, obviously some are actually making money with these scams. We have to be so careful with what we do and say
