Disturbing news on the radio this morning 6th Feb 2023, our farmers and farm land is disappearing at an alarming rate. Between urban spread, shore line properties (Point DeRoche) and the Monks and Nuns, plus other speculators. How has this been allowed to happen? Do we actually have a provincial government or a bunch of free loaders? I use Point DeRoche as my example, clearly money talks with our politicians. It appears to matter not which political strip, liberal or conservative. In each case it seems always money passing under the table. We can’t blame one or the other, they are both guilty of self interest. Can we not elect honest politicians who have only islanders as their prime concern and not their pockets. Before we completely lose the island to foreign investors we must act. We must enforce a change in politics, PR or at least stop voting the same two party’s into power. I can’t predict how long we have left to save our province, but one thing is for sure, not long. So it’s up to us to make the necessary changes, select people from many different walks of life, not the same old gang of back room choosing their puppets.
