Liberal Leader

I listened to Sharon Cameron on the radio this morning. By her own admission she is highly qualified to be the next Premier. Hmm, not so sure, she talks like everything wrong with this Province is down to the PCs and maybe even the Green Party. Yes the health care system is in crisis, however, it wasn’t so great during the Liberals fifteen years in government. Sharon talks like the Liberals have never done anything wrong. In fact it’s like they have never existed until now. If we elect them things will magically get better according to their new leader. I seem to recall another Liberal leader claimed he would ensure every islander would have a family doctor if he was elected. Well people believed him and he was our premier for approximately ten years. Left under a cloud of suspicious circumstance’s before his term ended. Today we have some 28.000 islanders without a family doctor. Then we had the coronation of MacLauchlan, he decided to rule against a legally held vote for proportional representation. You will remember he and his liberal cohorts were swept from office.
So forgive me if what I hear from the mouth of the next liberal Wonder Woman, I take with a grain of salt. Maybe it’s that I’m old, I have heard these same promises over the years, yet nothing but a few faces ever change. It’s difficult to understand why so many islanders vote them in time and again. If we want real change vote for anyone but liberals or conservatives. Vote NDP, Island Party, Green Party or independent’s, we have choices.
