I realize the title of this blog seems to refer to the provincial election being full of empty promises. Well, yes it does in a way, but that is not the purpose of my blog. I’m thinking more of the promises King is making about the new medical training school being built. He is taking about the new medical homes, some already active and more coming. He talks about training new doctors, NPs RNs, LPNs and RCWs. We just heard two more doctors are leaving the PCH, and these are internal medical specialists. Without them it would appear the hospital will be unable to run an ICU and several other systems. So it strikes me that if King can’t keep the doctors we have, how is he going to recruit ones qualified to do the teaching at his new school? I also wonder where he plans to find all the other medical professionals he speaks of. It seem we are going to have lots of new medical buildings, but they will be empty. I’m sorry but I find his promises are failing to be practical or honest. Building new empty buildings is not going to improve health care. Perhaps if politicians stop interfering in things they know nothing about, and start paying the health workers better salaries and wages. The we might see some improvement in our health care. Please we have lots of building, what we need is people to staff them.
God Bless and keep reading.
