img-hms-eastbournetotemHM/SM OtterimagesrumThinking of all my old shipmates at this special time of year. I will tip a glass of Irish to you. Christmas Day. How many Christmas days did we spend away from families and loved ones  whilst in the Royal Navy. Sad times but wonderful times too. The awful on board Christmas dinners, usually dried out and burnt but perhaps a slight level above the usual mealtime fare.  The tot of rum always helped make the food go down. At this time of year I often think of my amazing shipmates and friends. Many have crossed the bar now and others are aging gracefully, like me!!! (maybe??). Wishing you all a Very Happy Christmas and Great New Year, take care old friends, you are always in my memories. To those on eternal patrol, “Rest in Peace”my brave souls

God Bless and Merry Christmas
