On the 1st Dec I posted a message from a young lady who was searching for her father. He had served at the same time as me aboard the submarine Alcide. Through the blog I contacted several shipmates without luck. Then an old Ganges shipmate suggested another search site, low and behold she found her father. Alas too late, he had passed away some six months earlier. It was not all bad news as she did make contact with other family members and will now have an opportunity to share stories of her father and his life. While this wasn’t an ideal outcome, it is still nice to know we help Andrea succeed in her search, and I wish her all happiness in the future.
On a more happy note, Arsenal defeated Southampton 1-0 yesterday and move upward to sixth spot in the table. It was an important win that came late in the game and keeps Arsenal on their winning ways. Go Gunners Go.
